Lieutenant-Colonel George Rowley Hadaway was the only surviving son of Inspector General S.M. Hadaway. He was appointed Gentleman Cadet in July 1865 and served in Afghanistan, as Lieutenant, with the Ordnance Field Park, Peshawar Valley Field Force, during the first campaign. He married, in 1882, Lady Anne, 2nd daughter of the 3rd Duke of Buckingham and Chandos and died in Surrey on 11 November 1926.
