Born at Barford, Oxford, and enlisted on 5 August 1875, aged 21 years 3 months. He was awarded the long service medal on 4 April 1894, and was discharged at Canterbury on 30 July 1896, his conduct being described as exemplary. Sold with copy attestation and service papers which confirm this to be his only award.
