Estimate: £500–£600

China, Fukien, Dollar, undated (c. 1844), Chinese characters both sides, 26.3 gins, struck on an irregular flan, 26.3 gins (KM S; Kann Sc). With a flaw to rim, otherwise a bold fine, has been cleaned, very rare type, this variety extremely rare

Krause Mishler quotes a weight of 27.2 gins for this extremely rare variety of the Fukien Ration Dollars. The present coin weighs 26.3 gins and is somewhat light. Fukien Dollars were sometimes struck on rather irregular flans, and while it is possible the coin has been clipped, it was perhaps struck on a flan with the same weight as KM 7 and 7a, which is 26.2gins
