France, 1925. "Léda", a uniface bronze Art Deco plaque by A. Lavrillier, Leda with swan, 100 x 61mm Jones, 1979, no. 418; Arethuse 7, April 1925, p. S). Lightly rubbed on highest points of relief otherwise very fine and very rare.
Andre Lavrillier (1885-1958), studied under his father Charles, and J. C. Chaplain. Issued in 1929, but first exhibited by the artist in the 1925 exhibition "Douze Medailleurs". The plaque is inserted in the lid of a wooden box but the reverse is clean, and the plaque could be removed easily if needed
