Frederick, Lord Leighton (1830-1896), painter and President of the Royal Academy. Leighton writes: "my attacks & their frequent recurrence in spite of the care of the best doctor are very disheartening & I should be glad indeed to be able to hope that relief.., might come upon me suddenly.. "
