A C.M.G., C.I.E. group of eight to Brigadier R.E.T. Hogg, Royal Air Force, late Central India Horse, who was Assistant Military Secretary to the King at the 1911 Delhi Durbar

MICHAEL AND ST.GEORGE, C.M.G. neck badge in silver gilt and enamels; ORDER OF THE INDIAN EMPIRE, C.I.E., neck badge in gold and enamels; 1914-15 STAR (Major, 38 Horse); BRITISH WAR AND VICTORY MEDALS (Brig., R.A.F.); DELHI DURBAR 1911; France, LEGION OF HONOUR, 4th class breast badge in gold and enamels; CROIX DE GUERRE 1914-1918, the last six mounted as worn, together with a Borough of Bedford Sports Medal in silver with gold centre (Winner, Long Jump 1896) very fine and better (9)

The lot is sold with an original commission as 2nd Lieutenant, dated 21 September 1896.

Rudolph Edward Trower Hogg was born in 1877 and educated at Bedford and R.M.A., Woolwich. He entered the Royal Artillery in 1896, and transferred to the Indian Cavalry in 1901. He was awarded a Royal Humane Society Certificate for life-saving in 1907. Hogg was appointed Assistant Military Secretary to H.I.M. the King Emperor in 1911, and served on the staff during the Royal Tour of India (Durbar Medal, C.I. E.). During the Great War he served in Gallipoli and France (despatches) and was latterly Brigade Commander, Royal Air Force. He resigned his commission in 1919, and in the same year was created C.M.G.
