M.M., London Gazette, 28 July, 1917, and East African Force General Routine Order, 14 May 1917. For gallantry in action on 25.4.1917. An award for the German East Africa campaign. Of the 264 M.M's awarded for this campaign about 100 were to the King's African Rifles.
