Only 4 officers and 15 men are shown on the roll of the Staff Corps of Cavalry. Bartley's entitlement is shown as 6 clasps in the roll by Mullen but this is the result of a confusion with that of Serjt. William Bird who appears immediately above Bartley in P.R.O. records.
