This is the actual medal recorded by Tancred in Historical Record of Medals and Honorary Distinctions: 'There is little doubt that in the first instance a copper Waterloo Medal was struck for the soldiers, which was never issued. When, however, some of the Copper Medals were coined, Mr. Pole agreed with the chief engraver that they would have a despicable appearance, and most of the specimens were consigned to the melting pot.
