Spain, ORDER OF MARIA ISABELLA LOUISA, silver cross for N.C.Os and men, with silver ribbon buckle, good very fine
Instituted in 1833, many of these decorations were awarded to the detachment of Royal Artillery and Marines, who formed part of the British volunteer forces under General Sir De Lacy Evans, K.G.B., who in 1835 was sent in command of the 'Spanish Legion' of ten thousand troops, to aid the Queen against Don Carlos. It was also given to British men for service at San Sebastian on 5 May, 1836, and at Bilbao on 24 December, 1836.
