Three: 2nd Lieutenant J.K. Campbell, Royal Engineers, late Scottish Rifles

1914-15 STAR (7721 Cpl., Sco. Rif.); BRITISH WAR AND VICTORY MEDALS M.I.D. (2. Lieut.) nearly extremely fine (3)

James King Campbell was killed in action on 21 April, 1916, whilst serving with 223 Tunnelling Coy., Royal Engineers. Educated at the Royal Technical College, Glasgow, he served his apprenticeship as a civil engineer with W.P. Weir, and later as assistant engineer with the Caledonian Railway. He enlisted into the Scottish Rifles and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers on 17 September, 1915.
