Charles Roy McAndrew was killed in action in France and Flanders on 21 September 1918 whilst serving with the Warwickshire Yeomanry, attached to the Machine Gun Corps. He is buried in Epehy Wood Farm Cemetery, France. He had previously survived the sinking of H.M.T Leasowe Castle, which was torpedoed on 26 May 1918 when taking his regiment back to England after service in Palestine.
