Victoria (1837-1901), 1897. Queen Victoria, Diamond Jubilee, City of Glasgow, presentation set of lozenge-shaped medals by Vaughton & Sons, in gold (15ct.: 21.99gm), silver, heavy bronze and light copper, each with veiled bust, reverse arms of the Corporation of Glasgow, 52 x 31mm [4] Medals with loops for suspension, all extremely fine and as issued, a very rare set; in fitted cream and blue velvet case, lid inscribed both sides (£180-220)

Gold medal only illustrated. The inscription on the underside of the lid states that 30 gold medals were struck for Conveners &c, 100 silver medals for Marshalls, and 5,200 for Assistants
