Devon, Plymouth, Dick’s, unofficial brass Farthing (Batty 58a; Bell 3). Good very fine, scarce (£12-15)

The only unofficial Farthing recorded for Plymouth and one of only three recordd by Bell for Devon. The device of a lady’s boot and the legend ‘the largest stock in devon’ indicates that the issuer was a wholesaler or retailer of boots and shoes. Only one example seen by Bell and probably far rarer than he indicates
