Victoria (1837-1901), Threepence, 1850. Hair rather soft but with only a hint of wear, good extremely fine, reverse practically as struck, slightly mottled grey and russet toning, with a few patches of subdued green on reverse, colour a little dull but far from unpleasing (£30-40

The reverse is very sharp, but the portrait less so and the fields are without proof-like brilliance. On balance this suggests the coin is a currency striking.
