M.C. London Gazette 8 December, 1953: Major John Aveline Waters Taylor, The King’s Own Royal Regiment. The original recommendation for this award is now available at the Public Record Office and it is hoped that it will be obtained before the sale.
Major John Taylor, attached to the 1st Battalion, The King’s (Liverpool) Regiment, was commanding “D” Company at Point 146 during the final battle of ‘The Hook’ 28-29 May, 1953.
