Victoria (1837-1901), 1862. International Exhibition, by L.C. Wyon after Maclise, 77mm (BHM 2747; E 1553), Colonial & Indian Reception, Princess Victoria and Frederick William, silver Wedding, 1883, obverse conjoined busts, within laurel wreath, reverse peace holding palm and laurel wreath, with armorial shields behind, 90mm (BHM-; E-), Colonial & Indian Reception at the Guildhall 1886, by Messrs Elkington, 77mm (BHM 3214; E. 1726), Jubilee, 1887, by A. Scharff, 77mm (BHM 3284; E 1732), Return of City of London Voluntees from South Africa, 1900, by Sir George Frampton, 77mm (BHM 3684; E 1848), all contained in a velvet lined oak glazed frame [5]. All have been silvered, generally extremely fine, attractive (£600-800)

The above lot all are silvered, and are mounted in a frame, the back of which has attached a cutting from a Christies catalogue, dated in ink 1907 (?), and written in pencil below “These 5 medals were the property of ..... the Duke of Cambridge...at the sale after his death....”. It would appear that these medals may be presentation medals, as the quality of silvering is high and the International Exhibition medal is unnamed.
