18th Century, Middlesex, National series, Skidmore’s Penny for the Revolution Jubilee, from Jacobs’ reverse die, bust of William III right, no border, reverse Britannia seated left, lion at feet (DH 198; BHM 284). Softly struck and with characteristic flaws but the reverse usually well-centred, extremely fine with a hint of original colour, very rare (£200-250)
