The mounted group of eleven miniature dress medals worn by Brigadier-General J. B. Wroughton, C.B., C.M.G., Royal Sussex Regiment, comprising Order of the Bath; Order of St Michael and St George; I.G.S. 1895, 1 clasp, Punjab Frontier 1897-98; Q.S.A., 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Wittebergen; 1914 Star, with clasp; British War and Victory Medals, with M.I.D.; Legion of Honour, 4th class; Order of Leopold, 4th class; Belgian Croix de Guerre; Order of St Anne with swords, all decorations silver-gilt and enamels, together with an original signed coloured caricature as ‘Asst. Adjutant Ge. to Adj. Gen. British Armies, France, 1918’, generally very fine (11) £300-350

Brigadier-General J. B. Broughton ended the Great War as Deputy Adjutant General to the British Forces in France and Flanders, and commanded the 1st Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, 1919-20. Sold with further research and some copy M.I.D. certificates.
