Pair: Corporal James Hilson, 79th Highlanders

Crimea 1854-56, 3 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Sebastopol (Corpl., 79th Regt.) officially impressed naming; Indian Mutiny 1857-59, 1 clasp, Lucknow (79th Highlanders) contact marks and edge bruising, therefore good fine and better (2) £300-350

James Hilson was born at Dalkeith, Scotland, and enlisted for the 79th Highlanders at Edinburgh on 10 February 1853. He served in Turkey and the Crimea for 2 years 43 days, and in India for 14 years 100 days. He was discharged at Perth on 5 February 1875. Sold with copy medal roll for the Crimea but not entitled to Balaklava clasp, and copy discharge papers.
