Edmond Carroll was born at Robertstown, Asketon, Limerick, and attested for the 75th Regiment at Limerick on 11 December 1849, aged 19. His discharge papers state that he received a slight wound on the head before Delhi on the 15th June 1857, and was wounded severely by a bullet in the leg at the storming of Delhi on the 14th September 1857. Despite his wounds, he was not invalided out and continued to serve until he requested his discharge, on termination of his second period of engagement, at Singapore on 27 June 1870. Sold with copy discharge papers.
