London Gazette 22 April 1919 ‘Honours for services on the Mediterranean Station (Gibraltar) between 1 July and 11 November 1918.’

H.M. BRIG X was a small Brigatine built in 1910 of 182 tons. It was one of a small number of sailing ships that operated as decoy vessels also known as ‘Q’ ships. Before employment as a ‘Q’ ship she was known as the VOORUITGANG and the HOOGEZAND, and served in the Royal Navy from 7th of June 1917 to 8th of January 1918 as “Q.17” but also masqueraded under the names HELGOLAND and HORLEY. In 1918 BRIG X was based at Gibraltar.
