The Most Honourable Order of The Bath, C.B. (Military) breast badge in silver-gilt and enamels, complete with ribbon buckle in its Garrard & Co case of issue, together with original Warrant of Appointment to Admiral Henry Rushworth Wratislaw, dated 28th June 1907, extremely fine

Admiral Wratislaw served against Indians in Vancouver Island in 1853; Mate of John Watt in the Baltic in 1854; and Lieutenant of Shannon, serving with the Naval Brigade during the Indian Mutiny; mentioned in Sir Colin Campbell’s despatches for the siege and capture of Lucknow. Admiral Wratislaw was made C.B. in 1907 on the 50th Anniversary of the Indian Mutiny, and died in July 1913. Sold with further research.
