Sergeant J. Cunningham was killed on active service when his Halifax collided with a Wellington on 3 June 1945. He is buried at Peterborough (Eastfield) Cemetery, the inscription on his headstone reading ‘Jim was one of the brave lads of England and that’s something to remember’.
