Bill Nagle was a private soldier with the SAS in Vietnam during 1966-67, and apparently served as a cook. His claim to fame is the little book he wrote called ‘The Odd Angry Shot’, a tough, biting comedy about an SAS troop in Vietnam, that won the National Book Council Award for Australian Literature when it was first released in 1975. It was later made into a successful movie by Tom Jeffrey and Sue Milliken. The lot is sold with a copy of the book and two group photographs.
