A Great War A.R.R.C. group of four awarded to Nurse F. L. Brown, B.R.C.S. & O.St J.J.

Frances Louise Brown was born circa 1887 and trained at Guy’s Hospital. She served in France at No. 5 Red Cross Hospital, Wimereux, from December 1914 to January 1919, and was made an A.R.R.C. in June 1918. After demobilisation from the B.R.C.S., she joined the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in December 1919 as a medical orderly based in France, and was promoted Nursing Sister in April 1921. She left the Commission’s service in March 1930.
