The Order of the British Empire, C.B.E. (Civil) 2nd type neck badge in its Garrard & Co case of issue, together with bestowal document ‘Harold Edwards Bannister,’ 1 January 1960, and an attractive struck bronze prize medal, 56 mm, obverse central bust surrounded by inscription ‘John Borthwick Gilchrist, born 1759, died 1841,’ reverse winged angel and three school children, legend ‘Fiat Lux,’ the edge inscribed ‘Harold E. Bannister,’ in fitted case of issue, the lid embossed ‘Gilchrist Educational Trust Awarded to Mr Hariold Edwards Bannister for his work during the course of study, and in the examination for the diploma in economics and social science of the University of London 1935,’ extremely fine (2)
