Private David Alcock served with the 4th Volunteer Battalion in South Africa, comprising a total of 113 officers and men. During the Great War he served in France from 26 January 1915, Northumberland Fusiliers and East Yorkshire Regiment, and is entitled to a Silver War Badge.
