Three: Private L. Edwards, East Surrey Regiment
British War and Victory Medals (L-13970 Pte., E.Surr.R.) together with Bronze Memorial Plaque (Leonard Edwards) and a card shield shaped plaque inscribed ‘Pte. Leonard Edwards, No. 13970, 1st East Surrey’s, North Sea April 1916, Russia 1919, returned to Edinburgh and died Oct. 23, 1919’, extremely fine (4)

Leonard Edwards, born Long Credon, Bucks., enlisted Watford, lived Thame, Buckinghamshire. The 1st battalion East Surrey’s landed at Murmansk on 25th August 1919, were actively engaged against Bolshevik forces during the Allied withdrawal of 13th to 31st september, re-embarked at Murmansk on 10th October and landed at Tilbury on 17 October 1919. Private Edwards died six days later.
