Pilot Officer Ronald Hall, the pilot of Whitley V N1352 KN-D of 77 Squadron, was killed on the night of 18/19 April 1940 flying from Kinross to Trondheim. At 22.07 a distress call was received from Hall’s Whitley which ditched in the North Sea at 22.34, killing Hall. The survivors and Hall’s body were recovered by H.M.S. Bassilisk at 02.00 on the 19th April.
