A.F.M. London Gazette 17 June 1942. The following recommendation was extracted from official records: ‘ Leading Aircraftman Alexander Paxton Skelding Fimister, No. 4 A.O.S Leading Aircraftman Fimister has been employed as a towed target operator since 1st May 1940, and has flown 686 hours as an air operator. He is extremely willing and has set an example to his comrades in the Towing Flight by his keenness on flying and his ability in operating.’
