Devonport & Stonehouse Mechanics Institute, Issac Newton medal, awarded in 1844 to J. Truscott for a hydraulic ram, bronze, 43mm, after J. Dassier, bust of Newton three-quarters right, reverse decorative arms of the Institute. Good extremely fine and rare (£80-120)

This is the first example of the medal seen by the cataloguer, the obverse is that of Dassier’s medal for the death of Issac Newton struck in 1727 (MI II, page 470, no. 85).
