Maharajpoor Star 1843 (Private John Barritt, H.M. 40th Regt.) fitted with original hook and slip-over scroll suspension, nearly very fine £250-300

John Barritt enlisted at Leeds on 22 February 1840, and arrived in India in September 1840. He was present with the 40th Regiment at the battle of Maharajpoor in December 1843, and volunteered to the 31st Foot in November 1844. He was killed in action at the battle of Moodkee on 18 December 1845.
