Claude Eustace Chetwynd Talbot was born on 24 December 1893 at Bath, Somerset, and educated at St Edwards School, Bath, and Haileybury College. He was killed in action on the first day of the Battle of Loos, on 25 September 1915, whilst serving with the 6th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium. He was one of three officers of the regiment killed in this action.
