Private Craven is confirmed for all three clasps on the first medal. He was serving with No. 25 British Field Hospital and is one of a small number of men from this regiment to earn the clasp for Tirah 1897-98. He was subsequently one of only six men of the regiment present at Elandslaagte and the Defence of Ladysmith.
