British War and Victory Medals (31293 Cpl., R.A.F.) together with an attractive illuminated Peace Celebrations certificate from the inhabitants of Earley, Berkshire, various driving licenses from May 1910, several photographs and post cards, including a fine R.F.C. silk card, and the Great War pair awarded to his brother (315121 Pte. J. A. Cane, R. Suss. R.) generally good very fine (Lot) £40-50

William Cane was born on 4 February 1891. He was a chauffeur in Reading prior to joining the Royal Flying Corps and serving in France with 70 Squadron on the Western Front. After the war he returned to his work as a chauffeur. He died at Reading on 7 February 1971.
