Sergeant Richard Walker was born in Cheetham, Manchester and enlisted at Manchester. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 1 july 1916, the first day of the Battle of the Somme. He is buried at Dantzig Alley British Cemetery, Mametz, Somme, France.
