Royal Humane Society, small bronze, successful (Geo. H. Sandaver, 12th Aug. 1913), complete with bronze buckle on ribbon, very fine £50-70
Case No. 40380. ‘At 2.45p.m. on the 12th August, a man named Nicholson, while at work inside a gasholder in Leeds, was overcome and became unconscious. Patrick Carry went to his help but was also overcome and lost his life. Thos. Barlow, Christopher Bywater, Herbert Briggs, Thomas Vintner, Geo. H. Sandaver, P.S. John Horn, P.C. Chas. Spirrett, P.C. J. Taylor and Oscar Ellis, at great risk, saved, or endeavoured to save life’.
A Memorium was awarded to the relatives of P. Carry; all the others named received the R.H.S. Bronze Medal.
