The Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, K.C.M.G., Knight Commander’s set of insignia, comprising neck badge in silver-gilt and enamel, with gold and enamel centres, and breast star in silver, with gold and enamel appliqué centre, contained in its R. & S. Garrard & Co. case of issue, the centre of the Star loose and minor enamel damage to the Badge centres, very fine and better (2) £800-1000

Attributed to Sir Richard Solomon, K.C.B., K.C.M.G., K.C.V.O. (1850-1913), the Attorney General in South Africa who became Legal Adviser to Lord Kitchener, C.-in-C. British Forces in 1898 and afterwards the Union of South Africa’s first High Commissioner in London.
