A Miniature Austrian Order of Franz Joseph, decorated with red, black and white enamel detail, together with a miniature Order of Franz Joseph gilt metal mounted collar chain, composed of 13 enamel links, together with a pearl set belcher-link chain, (pearls untested for natural origin), and a baton and ball link chain, stamped ‘18k’, the cross length 3.1cm, chain length 50cm, second chain length 42cm. £300-500

The Imperial Austrian Franz Joseph Order was founded by the Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria on 2nd December, 1849, on the first anniversary of his accession to the imperial throne. It continued until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918 and was not re-established with the foundation of the Republic of Austria.
