Provenance: A Collection of Tokens relating to the Passage of Mail, Baldwin Auction 38, 4 October 2004, lot 751.
The issuer’s earlier token, dated [16]57, is well known and from the footnote in Williamson’s Boyne one might infer that the King’s Head, Love Lane, was solely a post house for letters (p.667)
