Charles I (1625-1649), Oxford mint, fantasy Half Pound, 1644, a cast silver copy coupling a Rawlins’ Crown obv. with a Half-Pound rev. (cf. N 2407; cf. S 2948). Obverse off-centre, some surface marks, otherwise very fine, a well-made and convincing item £300-400

Sold with paperwork by J.P.C. Kent, British Museum, 1956 and Spink, 1978. A much inferior electrotype copy of the same design was sold in these rooms in 2015 (DNW 134, lot 1000)
