R.); British War and Victory Medals (104 Sjt. E. F. G. Powell. 17-Lond. R.); Territorial Force Efficiency Medal, E.VII.R., with Second Award Bar (104 Sjt: Bglr. E. F. G. Powell. 17/(C. of L.) B. Lon: Regt.) Battalion number officially corrected, the Bar somewhat crudely pierced, edge bruise to first, nearly very fine (5) £200-240

E. F. G. Powell served during the South African War with the Volunteer Company, Royal Irish Regiment (entitled to a 3 clasp Queen’s South Africa Medal), and in the Great War with the 17th (City of London) Battalion, London Regiment in France from 9 March 1915 (also received a wound badge). He was awarded his Territorial Force Efficiency Medal by Army Order 7 in January 1909, and the Second Award Bar in May 1922.
