David II (1329-1371), Halfgroat, Edinburgh, class A, mm. cross pattée, small young bust breaking tressure, reads davin and prosector, 2.16g/1h (B 3 variety; S 5105). Hairline striking crack at 10 o’clock, otherwise extremely fine and practically as struck with a superb portrait, most attractive (£300-350)
