James VI (1567-1625), Ten Shillings, 1593, mm. quatrefoil, 5.77g/9h; Five Shillings, 1594, mm. quatrefoil, 2.80g/12h (S 5493, 5494) [2]. First slightly double-struck (date reads 159593) and broken and repaired between 11 and 1 o’clock, second with traces of gilding and mount at 6 o’clock and with hairline tooling both sides, otherwise fine or better (£40-50)
