Richard III (1483-1485), Groat, London, type 2a, in the name of Edward (formerly attributed to Edward V), mm. boar’s head (no.1, over halved sun and rose, no.1) on obv., halved sun and rose (no.1) on rev., 2.83g/7h (Stewart, BNJ 1980, p.134, die a, in altered state; Blunt, BNJ XXII, p.225, and pl., 7 and 8, same obv. die; N 1672; S 2155). Minor corrosion to parts of legends, but very fine with a clear portrait and on an unusually full flan, extremely rare (4,500-5,000)
