Benjamin Arthur Bloomfield was commissioned Ensign, 19th Madras Native Infantry, in 1858. He served with the Regiment in Bengal during the Indian Mutiny, where he was present with Major-General Whitlock’s force, and took part in the action at Girwassah on the banks of the Scinde river, 16 December 1858. He advanced to Lieutenant in 1860, and died at Bangalore in March 1870.
