The Londonderry Militia Officer’s Helmet Plate 1878-81, an extremely rare example, the gilt crowned star pattern back plate with plated overlays comprising laurel sprays enclosing a circle ‘Vita Veritas Victoria’, in the centre on a ground of black velvet (worn) the Arms of the city being a skeleton atop a mountain and two twin towered castles with flags flying, complete with three loop fasteners, a small tear at the base of the crown and three star finials with buckling otherwise good condition £360-460
