James I (1406-1437), Groat, First Fleur-de-lis issue, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, lis on neck, saltire to left, I to right and at base of sceptre, saltire on shoulders, lis stops, rev. three large and one small pellet in first and fourth quarters, lis in second quarter and lis with pellet and saltire in the third, lis and double saltire stops, 2.21g/2h (cf. SCBI 35, 646-7; S 5195). Flan irregular, legends partly flat, otherwise very fine, toned, rare (£250-300)
