North Mayo Militia Officer’s Helmet Plate 1878-1881, an extremely fine and rare example of crowned star pattern back plate with laurel overlays, in the centre a circle ‘North Mayo Militia’ enclosing the VR cypher on a ground of black velvet, complete with three loop fasteners, slight wear to the plating on the VR centre otherwise very fine condition
